For this second bunker-themed MOC we chose to make a diorama showing the assault of Echo Base in Hoth. The scene shows Darth Vader leading Snowtroopers in the attack. As a humorous take on the scene from the movie, we have Luke and Leia in holiday sweaters relaxing over coffee, tea, and cake. A small snowman also stands guard between the Rebels and the Imperials.

The entrance to Luke and Leia’s control room has a circular doorway with warning lights and a keypad lock. We added several details to the bunker walls to make them look like they were carved from the ice caves of Hoth. We used modified bricks and tiles with crystalline and fractured patterns, as well as several satin pieces. Engine pieces from the Solar Explorer and the Scimitar are among the scattered equipment. Finally, exposed supports and girders complete the make-shift look of the Rebellion’s hidden ice base.
